The challenge.
These days, service engineers in technical facility management often use mobile software for CAFM (Computer Aided Facility Management) on their smartphones, tablets or laptops to process orders and document them.
The required measurements, on the other hand, are usually carried out using conventional measuring technology. The measurement is launched manually on the measuring instrument and the parameters required for the measurement are entered into the measuring instrument manually. The measurement results and all relevant information must then be read off and transferred manually via the keyboard to the mobile software. Often, the service engineer simply notes them down on paper and puts them into the software in the office later on. These procedures, which are typical in many cases, are cumbersome and time- consuming, and the paperwork associated with them has the potential to be a source of error.
Ultimately, the quality and consistency of the recorded data depend on the care taken by the respective processor.

Digital, app-enabled measuring instruments from Testo make measuring and documenting much easier. The service engineer sees the readings on the smartphone or tablet itself and can generate reports. His work is made significantly easier by so-called app-to-app integration, which connects the Testo App to the mobile CAFM software used for documentation. Advantage: The measurement results with all the relevant information (readings, date/time, graphics, instrument information, unmodified supplementary information) can be transferred from the Testo apps to the mobile CAFM software and saved in the correct place right away, e.g. in the customer order, at the touch of a button. There is no need for any laborious manual keying in.
These automated processes save your service engineers around 5 to 10 minutes of working time per measurement. Subsequent documentation is also quick and error-free, because all the readings and measurement times are now available in the mobile CAFM software – no more "detention" in the office. This virtually eliminates transmission errors, incomplete data and the need for new measurements, and ensures that measurement results are complete and consistent, regardless of the respective processor.
